Episode 298. Credibility isn’t about age, it’s about how you show up

This episode of The Art of Entrepreneurship is for anyone who has ever felt too young, too new or too underqualified to take up space in a room.

I absolutely went through this early in my career, from getting a leadership role to founding a company while I was still in my 20s. For me, this insecurity showed up everywhere: how I dressed, how I spoke, even how I edited my LinkedIn profile to hide my age. And while it worked (I think), it was exhausting to constantly perform a version of myself that I thought people wanted.

In this episode, I break down what I’ve learned in the 12 years since: authority comes from competence, confidence and preparation—not your age. You don’t have to age into credibility; you earn it by the way you show up.

Tune in for the five shifts that helped me move from faking credibility to earning it, how to use your youth as an advantage, and why showing up with consistency matters more than trying to look the part.
