My Story

I became an entrepreneur 12 years ago when I purchased the recipes for 4 (delicious) vegan cookies and tried to make a business of it. Somehow, I figured out how to safely manufacture, sell, and distribute the cookies to 12 grocery stores around Wisconsin. The company didn’t make much money (it’s rough out there selling $5 bags of cookies), but I sure learned a lot.

10 years ago, I started Accelity, my B2B SaaS marketing agency. I had a baby at home, was working on the company nights and weekends, and made alllllllll the mistakes.

I up and quit my job when I had 2 clients, then my main client canceled their contract. Within weeks of starting my full-time entrepreneurship journey, I was applying to bartend and drive for Uber.

I made my first hire after one coffee meeting. I remember thinking, “She could probably do the job” (I’m not even sure I knew what the job was).

I've made and lost a lot of money. I massively underpriced our services for years. I blew tens of thousands of dollars on an outsourced sales company that produced $2,500 in sales. Yikes.

I defined a niche then repeatedly took clients outside of it. In hindsight, those clients were never worth it. I seriously considered shutting down the company at least a handful of times. Really talking myself up here, eh? 😅

Long story short, making all the mistakes turned into learning all the lessons.

I started creating content online to share those lessons four years ago on LinkedIn. A community of 110,000+ later, I have built a personal brand around sharing challenges, real conversations, marketing best practices, and a lot more. Connect with me if you haven't!

Thank you 10x over for your support, and for joining me on this journey. ❤️
